US warns India and other countries against buying sanctioned Venezuelan oil 

US Special Representative for Venezuela Elliott Abrams told Reuters that India must not be buying oil from current Maduro regime of Venezuela against the wishes of the people of that country.

New Delhi and Washington is in discussion on this and other trade related issues. Most of India’s crude oil is imported. India did receive some sort of waiver for buying some amount of Iranian crude oil. India at this time is one of few countries that continues to buy oil from Venezuela.

Trump Administration plans to terminate the preferential tax-free trade treatment for India. That can effect India’s export to US. Trump Administration is looking for free and fair trade with equitable access Indian market.

India has recently put some restrictions on eCommerce platforms. That is affecting Walmart and Amazon’s investments in India.
